Quality Comes First
Sunon regards product quality as a core value underpinning sustainable business operations and customer trust. Through a comprehensive quality management system and rigorous controls over materials and chemicals, the Company ensures that all stages from product design, procurement, production, and inspection to delivery comply with the requirements for product safety, quality stability, regulatory compliance, and sustainable development, thereby continuously enhancing product reliability and market competitiveness and reinforcing its position as a trusted brand.
Quality Management Systems and Certifications
Since 1995, Sunon has gradually introduced quality management systems. At present, all manufacturing sites, including Kaohsiung Headquarters, Kunshan Guangxing Plant, Beihai Sunon Plant, Beihai Lizhun Plant, Huizhou Sunon Plant, and Philippines Sunon Plant, have obtained ISO 9001 certification. The Company continues to conduct internal and external audits and management reviews in accordance with standard requirements to ensure the effective operation and continual improvement of its quality management system.
To enter the automotive market and comply with international automotive industry standards, the Company introduced the ISO/TS 16949 management system in 2005. At present, the Kunshan Guangxing Plant and Beihai Sunon Plant have obtained IATF 16949 certification according to the nature of their respective production lines. Third-party certification bodies are engaged each year to conduct audits in order to maintain certificate validity and ensure sound system operation. Certain products and manufacturing sites have also obtained customer-specific quality standard certifications to meet the needs of the automotive and high-reliability application markets.
During product development and manufacturing processes, Sunon has implemented Design Review, Pilot Run, Process Control, Final Inspection, and customer complaint handling and feedback mechanisms. Through data-based management and abnormality analysis, the Company implements corrective and preventive actions, reduces defect rates and quality risks, and continuously enhances product consistency and customer satisfaction.
In accordance with international standards such as ISO 9001 and IATF 16949, the Company has established a comprehensive quality management system to ensure that products meet customer needs, regulatory requirements, and product safety requirements, reduce management system risks, and continue to respond to stakeholder expectations. In 2025, the Company had no incidents of non-compliance with laws and regulations related to product quality, health, or safety, demonstrating the reliability of its quality management system and the fulfillment of its commitments to customers and stakeholders.
Substance Management Policy
Sunon closely follows international environmental trends and regulatory developments and continues to keep abreast of the latest requirements for chemical substance management in products, including relevant regulations such as EU RoHS, REACH, California Proposition 65, and IEC 62474. The Company places importance on the impacts of products on the environment and human health and closely identifies and controls hazardous substances with significant environmental impacts. In accordance with international regulations, industry standards, and customer requirements, the Company has established comprehensive substance management policies and management mechanisms to fully control the use of hazardous substances at every stage, from product design, raw material selection, supplier management, and manufacturing processes to shipment. It actively promotes halogen-free and low-environmental-impact material alternatives to reduce potential impacts on the environment and society, ensure product compliance with international regulations, and meet customer expectations for green products, while moving toward the goal of Hazardous Substance Free products. At the same time, Sunon strengthens compliance awareness as well as supply chain information transparency and traceability through digital management tools and supplier collaboration mechanisms, continuously improving product safety and environmental performance.
Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive (RoHS)All of the Company's products comply with the EU Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) Directive. The ten restricted substances include lead (Pb), mercury (Hg), cadmium (Cd), hexavalent chromium (Cr VI), polybrominated biphenyls (PBB), polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE), bis(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP), butyl benzyl phthalate (BBP), dibutyl phthalate (DBP), and diisobutyl phthalate (DIBP). Through supplier compliance declarations, material verification, and necessary testing, the Company ensures that the content of the above substances in its products complies with applicable limit requirements. In 2025, there were no incidents of non-compliance with RoHS requirements. |
Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH)Sunon continuously monitors the list of Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) and related restriction requirements under the EU REACH Regulation and revises its substance management strategies and internal control measures based on the latest regulatory updates. Through annual supplier audits and disclosure mechanisms, the Company requires suppliers to provide substance composition information and compliance declarations, and formulates reduction or substitution plans for high-risk or restricted substances in order to reduce the risks associated with hazardous chemical use and ensure that products comply with REACH requirements and customer expectations. |
IECQ QC 080000 Hazardous Substance Process Management SystemAll of the Company's manufacturing sites have introduced and obtained certification for the IECQ QC 080000 Hazardous Substance Process Management (HSPM) system, ensuring that raw materials, semi-finished products, and finished products in internal manufacturing processes comply with hazardous substance management standards and relevant regulatory requirements. Through systematic management, internal and external audits, and continual improvement mechanisms, Sunon effectively strengthens its capabilities in the prevention, control, and risk management of hazardous substances, thereby fulfilling its responsibilities for product quality, safety, and the environment. |
Conflict Minerals and Responsible Minerals ManagementIn accordance with the OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Supply Chains of Minerals, Sunon has established conflict minerals management policies and operating procedures to ensure that sources of minerals such as tin (Sn), tantalum (Ta), tungsten (W), gold (Au), cobalt (Co), and natural mica do not involve non-government armed groups, illegal groups, or high-risk conflict-affected areas. The Company is committed to complying with the conflict minerals policy. In addition to implementing responsible sourcing principles internally, it also requires suppliers to comply with relevant requirements. Sunon regularly conducts supplier surveys and risk assessments using the conflict minerals reporting templates (CMRT and EMRT) published by the Responsible Minerals Initiative (RMI), requiring suppliers to disclose mineral sources and sign conflict-free mineral declarations. In 2025, none of the Company's suppliers used conflict minerals, in compliance with relevant customer and regulatory requirements. |
Quality Management Performance
|
In the management of environmentally hazardous substances this year, there were no cases of excessive hazardous substance levels in either incoming materials or customer complaints, indicating that the Company maintained sound performance in raw material management and manufacturing quality control.
|
We continue to optimize manufacturing processes. First Pass Yield (FPY) is an important indicator used to measure manufacturing quality stability and represents the proportion of products that pass quality inspection upon initial completion of manufacturing without requiring rework or repair. A higher FPY indicates more stable process quality and can also effectively reduce process defects and resource consumption while improving production efficiency and product reliability.
In recent years, through measures such as process optimization, quality improvement, and equipment upgrades, Sunon has continuously strengthened process stability and reduced process energy consumption and raw material waste. As a result, product FPY has remained stable and improved progressively. In 2025, process FPY increased year by year to 98.5%, effectively reducing rework and scrap and maintaining a stable final yield level. |
