SUNON switches off lights for an hour every year in response to the Earth Hour event, held on the last Saturday of March, with over 190 countries, regions and groups of people around the world to support this international environmental protection campaign by action. In 2021, a record-breaking number, 192 supporter countries and regions where they took part in for the Hour worldwide was kept, even though strict COVID-19 restrictions were applied in the countries. We hope turning off lights for an hour event reminds us that we stand guard our planet as much as possible anytime and anywhere. And apart from that, energy conservation and carbon reduction can be applied to put low-carbon life in practice by reducing unnecessary electricity use. Also, there are specific practices to reduce carbon emissions that can be taken into action. For example, we can have more vegetables and less meat for our daily diet, choose to eat local food and on the season, take public transportation, and use renewable energy.

In support of 「Earth Hour」 on 26 Mar 2022, SUNON staff and our family dependants in Kaohsiung headquarters and overseas branches, offices, and production bases will switch off any unnecessary energy use at 8:30 – 9:30 pm that night. We’d also like to invite you to join the Hour to connect to others worldwide, and we all together shape our Earth and our Homes.
