Sunon's climate reduction targets validated by SBTi, affirming its net-zero commitment and fostering a sustainable future across the value chain.

In response to the Paris Agreement’s goal of limiting global warming to 1.5°C, Sunonwealth Electric Machine Industry Co., Ltd. (Sunon, TPE: 2421) received official validation of its science-based targets (SBT) from the internationally recognized Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) on April 21, 2025. The validation confirms that the greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction targets submitted by Sunon comply with the SBTi Corporate Net-Zero Standard and guidelines.

This achievement signifies international recognition of Sunon’s commitment to carbon reduction and sustainable transformation. It also demonstrates the company’s determination and concrete actions to combat climate change.

Sunon’s greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction targets for Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions have been thoroughly reviewed and validated by the SBTi, confirming their alignment with the initiative’s rigorous standards and guidelines. Using 2022 as its base year, Sunon has committed to a long-term goal of achieving net-zero emissions across its entire value chain by 2050.

For its near-term targets, Sunon aims to reduce absolute Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG emissions by 42.2% by 2030 compared to the 2022 baseline. Additionally, during the same period, Sunon has pledged a 25% absolute reduction in Scope 3 emissions related to purchased goods and services and the use phase of sold products.

For its long-term targets, Sunon has further committed to reducing absolute emissions from Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 by 90% by 2050, fully aligning with science-based net-zero goals.

This validation marks an important milestone in Sunon’s journey toward sustainable transformation. The company will continue to strengthen collaboration across its supply chain by sourcing and utilizing low-carbon raw materials, enhancing product efficiency, reducing power consumption through advanced R&D, and adopting renewable energy throughout its operations.

Sunon will also continue to promote green manufacturing and maintain transparent and credible carbon reduction and GHG inventory systems. Furthermore, the company will share its carbon reduction practices with upstream suppliers and pass on the benefits of its achievements to downstream customers, fostering a sustainable and mutually beneficial value chain.

As one of the world’s leading brands in thermal solutions, Sunon fully recognizes the impact of climate risks on both industry and society and firmly believes that businesses play a vital role in advancing sustainable development. Amid the rapid growth of the AI era, Sunon continues to offer customers high-performance, energy-efficient green solutions across air cooling products, cooling modules, and liquid cooling systems.

We are committed to upholding a spirit of responsibility and innovation, working alongside customers and partners to achieve a net-zero future by 2050 and leave a cleaner, healthier environment for future generations.
