5th Stop of the 2026 Inspirational Care Act: Yanshui, Tainan
When people think of Yanshui in Tainan, images of its spectacular Beehive Fireworks Festival, skies filled with smoke, and the town's prosperous past, immortalized in the historic saying, “First Tainan, second Lukang, third Monga, fourth Yuejin”, may immediately come to mind.
Yet beyond the excitement of its festivals, a walk through the town's everyday streets and alleys reveals something even more moving: the genuine warmth and kindness woven into the fabric of this close-knit community.

During our pre-event site visit, the staff of the Social Affairs Section demonstrated none of the formality or distance often associated with administrative procedures. Instead, they thoughtfully reviewed every detail of the assistance needed on the day of the event. Their attentiveness reminded us that Yanshui's greatest charm lies not only in its historic streets and traditional architecture, but also in the warmth of its people.
With hearts full of compassion, we arrived in Yanshui to personally deliver much-needed assistance—including heavy bags of rice and financial support—to local residents in need. Seeing the reassuring smiles on the faces of elderly residents as they received these gifts, I was deeply reminded that although life in Yanshui may move at a gentler pace amid the changes of modern times, its enduring spirit of mutual support and neighborly kindness remains as vibrant as ever. Like the history preserved along its old streets, these cherished values have not faded with time; instead, they have grown even more meaningful.
Our heartfelt thanks go to the Social Affairs Section of the Yanshui District Office for its wholehearted support, which brought an added sense of warmth and compassion to this charitable initiative. Thanks to the dedication of these caring public servants, the bags of rice and financial assistance represented far more than material and monetary support. They carried heartfelt respect, dignity, and kindness, allowing the spirit of compassion to shine quietly yet beautifully throughout this historic town.
